Maya Myrrh Resin
Out Of Stock

Myrrh is most commonly known as one of the gifts (along with gold and frankincense) the three wise men brought to Jesus in the New Testament. In fact, it was actually mentioned in the Bible 152 times! Myrrh was an important herb of the Bible,  as it was used as a spice, a natural remedy and to purify the dead.

What Is Myrrh?
Myrrh is a resin, or sap-like substance, that comes from a tree called Commiphora myrrha, common in Africa and the Middle East. Myrrh is botanically related to frankincense, and is one of the most widely used essential oils in the world.

The myrrh tree is distinctive due to its white flowers and knotted trunk. At times, the tree has very few leaves due to the dry desert conditions where it grows. It can sometimes take on an odd and twisted shape due to the harsh weather and wind.

In order to harvest myrrh, the tree trunks must be cut into to release the resin. The resin is allowed to dry and begins to look like tears all along the tree trunk. The resin is then collected and the essential oil is made from the sap via steam distillation.

Myrrh oil has a smoky, sweet or sometimes bitter smell. The word myrrh comes from the Arabic word “murr” meaning bitter. The oil is a yellowish, orange color with a viscous consistency. It is commonly used as a base for perfume and other fragrances.

Two primary active compounds are found in myrrh, called terpenoids and sesquiterpenes, both of which have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.Sesquiterpenes specifically also have an effect on our emotional center in the hypothalamus, helping us remain calm and balanced. Both of these compounds are under investigation for their anticancer and antibacterial benefits, as well as other potential therapeutic uses.

The myrrh resin is also very powerful alongside the Frankincense oil.

You can chew or crush and boil in a tea. You can put a drop of resin in water overnight and then drink in the morning. This is a powerful 3 way combination and is proving to help a lot!

Gold:

Often known as gold on its own, but many people believe the gold reference is to Curcumin. This can be taken with bioperine (Black pepper) to activate it and making it 200 times greater,

Why not try a powerful triad:

Try turmeric, frank and myrrh in different conbos as all three may have a powerful triad of healing together. Work out the best levels of dose for all three and place in a capsule.

How To Use
How To ApplyChew it, you only need a small amount I feel as it's v strong taste. Maybe 1/4 a gram a day. But take as much as you feel is best for you as this is only an estimate. Ie a gram a day may work better for you. Etc. max dose - unknown (please research yourself).Remember when you get your myrrh to crush it ! A big piece can be very strong. Try mixing it with a drop of frank oil as well or dissolving in boiling water. It could also be added to food and eaten or mixed in with a raw juice perhaps. Find the way that is right for you , these are just my own suggestions. Mix some myrrh with some manuka honey and lemonin hot water and drink.*Nb. The resin can stick to your teeth Like chewing gum so best ways I've found is overnight dissolving in hot water or sucking it - small pieces throughout the day.
